WELCOME TO TAGAYTAY
Perched 2,500 feet above sea level, at the
highest point of the province of Cavite, the City of Tagaytay has long
attracted visitors for its cool mountain breeze, paradise gardens and
the magnificent view to that phenomenon of a “Lake-Volcano-Lake” called
Taal.
The beauty of Taal
continues to draw us. This lake within an island within a lake is a view
that enhances any visit to Tagaytay City. Often shrouded in mist, Taal
Volcano and Taal lake hold their own mysteries deep within. Recent
findings show that the fresh water lake was once filled with water from
the sea -- traces of ancient beach littered with sea shells may still be
found at the lake bottom 30 feet below the surface. Taal Lake is home to
the only known species of sea snake that inhabits fresh water, Hydrophis
semperi.
Today Taal continues to enhance its guests. The enchanting view from
Tagaytay and other cites along the ridge offers a balm to the soul and
the spirit. At 2,500 feet above sea level, the weather is cool most of
the year, with abundant rainfall ideal for nurturing fruits and greens.
And in the continuing tradition of what is beautiful, Taal nurtures yet
another world -- a lifestyle that provides a mix of practical and
luxurious.
